It recognises decimals, negative values and numbers embedded inside sentences or mixed with currency symbols, so 'Invoice total ₹15,400.50 less -200 adjustment' yields both figures rather than fragments. That saves a genuinely tedious job: getting amounts out of a pasted statement, pulling measurements from a report, or lifting IDs out of a log file, all of which are otherwise manual or need a regular expression.
